​Project Overview​

D Squared Infrastructure provided access review and transportation engineering support for the redevelopment of the Coastal Way Plaza in Brooksville, Florida, anchored by BJ’s Wholesale Club. The project involved the redevelopment of an existing shopping center with approximately 16,600 square feet of additional commercial space and required coordination with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Seven to support driveway permitting along SR 50 (Cortez Road).

The effort focused on evaluating existing access conditions, identifying regulatory constraints, and developing technical recommendations to support agency review and approval.
 

D Squared Infrastructure served as the transportation engineering consultant for the project, supporting BJ’s Wholesale Club and the development team with access review, technical analysis, and coordination with FDOT District Seven. The team evaluated site conditions, reviewed prior analyses, and developed conceptual access strategies to support permitting and agency coordination.

Key Services

D Squared Infrastructure performed an access review to support FDOT District Seven driveway permitting efforts. The work included review of existing traffic studies, site development plans, and agency correspondence; evaluation of applicable FDOT District Seven access management requirements; and assessment of available traffic data, existing roadway conditions, and planned corridor improvements. Based on this review, D2i prepared an access recommendation memorandum and developed conceptual access and roadway layout exhibits to support permitting discussions. The effort also included coordination with the development team and supporting consultants, participation in meetings and technical discussions with stakeholders, and provision of technical support and documentation to facilitate FDOT driveway permitting review.​
