SR 60 & US 301 Intersection Improvements

SR 60 Florida

Location: Hillsborough County, Florida
Client: Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)

Project Overview

D Squared Infrastructure provided traffic engineering design, quality control, and Engineer of Record (EOR) services for intersection reconstruction projects along SR 60 and US 301/SR 43 in Hillsborough County. The project included comprehensive traffic engineering support for two major intersections, focusing on improved safety, operations, and multimodal accessibility through upgraded roadway geometry, traffic control, and pedestrian facilities.

The work supported reconstruction of existing asphalt intersections with concrete pavement, integration of ADA-compliant pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and modernization of traffic signal, lighting, and ITS systems to meet current FDOT criteria.

Key Services

Services included plans preparation, quality control review, and Engineer of Record services for traffic engineering disciplines including signing and pavement markings, traffic signalization, roadway lighting, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS). D Squared Infrastructure also provided traffic engineering support for turn lane length analysis, temporary traffic control (TTC) signal timing development, and preparation of design documentation. Improvements included upgraded signing and pavement markings with advance street name signs, signal modifications, lighting upgrades, hardened centerlines, directional median openings, drainage features, sidewalks, shared-use paths, curb ramps, pedestrian refuge islands, and multimodal enhancements designed to meet ADA requirements.

Representative Locations

  • US 301 at Gibsonton Drive / Boyette Road
