Location: Seminole County, Florida
Client: Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise
Limits: SR 417 from Milepost 50.0 to Milepost 55.0 (Connection to I-4)
Project Overview
D Squared Infrastructure provided intelligent transportation systems (ITS), signalization, and quality control services for resurfacing and operational improvements along a five-mile segment of the SR 417 Seminole Expressway between I-4 and International Parkway. The project enhanced roadway safety, improved traffic monitoring and incident detection, and supported safer maintenance operations through strategic ITS infrastructure upgrades. Services included the design and integration of advanced ITS devices, power and communications infrastructure, and system enhancement.
Key Services
Services included quality control review of ITS, signalization, and traffic engineering elements. The project also included preparation of a Maintenance Safety Assessment resulting in safety enhancements at nine ITS cabinet locations, design and implementation of six Wrong Way Vehicle Detection Systems with new power services and fiber optic communications, installation of two closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, and design of traffic detection loops at six intersections to support traffic monitoring and operational analysis. D Squared Infrastructure coordinated ITS system integration to ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure and compliance with Florida's Turnpike Enterprise standards.
