Project Overview
Tampa Bay Next is an approximately $8 billion transportation program encompassing major improvements along I-275, I-4, I-75, and surrounding arterial corridors throughout the Tampa Bay region. The program is focused on improving safety, mobility, and reliability while supporting long-term regional growth through innovative traffic management strategies and alternative delivery methods.
D Squared Infrastructure provided traffic engineering, transportation systems planning, GIS analysis, and community outreach support under the Owner’s Representative (OR) contract, assisting FDOT with planning, design, procurement, and construction management activities across this complex, multi-year program.
Key Services
Under the Owner’s Representative (OR) contract, D Squared Infrastructure provided comprehensive traffic engineering and transportation systems planning support, including technical leadership and advisory services for planning, design, procurement, and construction management efforts. Services included participation in RFP development and technical evaluation for multiple Design-Build procurements; development and review of concept plans for interstate corridors and major interchanges; planning and coordination of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), signalization, and smart work zone strategies; technical review of lighting, master signing, and tolling elements; GIS mapping and corridor analysis to support integrated corridor management and Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) initiatives; evaluation of interstate access requests and operational impacts; and public involvement, stakeholder coordination, and communications support throughout program development and delivery.
