Project Overview
D Squared Infrastructure provided traffic management center (TMC) operations support and integrated corridor management (ICM) services for state roadways in Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The program focused on improving arterial mobility and safety through active signal management, performance monitoring, data-driven analysis, and coordination with district operations staff.
The effort supported the development and expansion of the District’s arterial program, transitioning from initial implementation to active management of state signal systems and corridor-level operations.
Key Services
Services included project management and signal timing engineering support for TMC operations; development and implementation of an integrated corridor management (ICM) program; active signal timing adjustments and fine-tuning of time-of-day plans; monitoring and adjustment of adaptive signal control systems; field reviews, safety evaluations, and operational recommendations; and performance reporting to support corridor optimization. The project also included the development of recurring weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual arterial performance reports covering all state roadways within the district, incorporating mobility, safety, maintenance, and improvement metrics. Reporting tools and visualizations were developed to present before-and-after analyses, including rolling 12-month crash data with collision diagrams, and to support ongoing coordination meetings with district staff, arterial operators, and signal timing engineers to identify issues and implement data-driven mobility and safety improvements.
