US 27 Milling and Resurfacing

Location: Palm Beach County, Florida
Client: Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)

Project Overview

D Squared Infrastructure provided design project management services for milling and resurfacing improvements along approximately two miles of US 27, extending from the Palm Beach County Line to the Industrial Canal. The project focused on improving roadway safety, operations, and multimodal accessibility through targeted geometric and roadside enhancements.

In addition to resurfacing, the project incorporated corridor-wide safety upgrades to address operational deficiencies, improve shoulder continuity, and bring pedestrian facilities into compliance with current ADA standards.

Key Services

Services included design project management, project general and project common tasks, roadway analysis and plan development, utility coordination, signing and pavement marking analysis and plans, and 3D modeling. D2i developed milling and resurfacing plans incorporating corridor-wide safety improvements, including construction of paved inside shoulders throughout the project limits, widening for keyhole lanes at three locations, removal of acceleration lanes to improve operations, replacement of existing guardrail to meet current standards, and upgrades to pedestrian facilities to improve ADA compliance. D2i also provided design coordination, quality oversight, and project documentation to support delivery in accordance with FDOT criteria.
